Ogun INEC Commissioner encourages Citizens to Participate in Voter’s Registration

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ogun State, Mrs. Feyijimi Saseyi has appealed to community leaders and other relevant bodies to mobilize the citizens for active participation in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration Exercise.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner emphasized that the people’s participation was key to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.

Speaking at a forum with media professionals in Abeokuta, Mrs. Saseyi
commended the steady progress of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise in the state.

She explained that the exercise which commenced on August 18, would run for about a year to accommodate fresh registration for those who just turned 18, transfer of voter registration, replacement of lost or damaged PVCs and correction of errors.

Mrs. Saseyi explained that the process could be completed online via the INEC portal, while physical registration would take place at local government offices across the state.

She encouraged Nigerians to rise to the responsibility of getting registered to be able to vote during elections.
