The Ogun State Ministry of Transportation has renewed commitment to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transportation system that supports socio-economic development while promoting sustainable peace and order among all stakeholders in the sector.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Olugbenga Dairo, reaffirmed the commitment when the management team of Radio Nigeria Paramount FM, Abeokuta, led by the General Manager, Mrs. Oluremi Olugbenro, paid a courtesy visit to his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Mr. Dairo said the notable peaceful relations among transport unions in the State was achievable through regular stakeholder engagements and reorientation programmes for union leaders to uphold professionalism and harmony within the sector.
He pledged the ministry’s readiness to partner Paramount FM, describing the media as a vital channel for public enlightenment about the ministry’s policies and programmes for promoting safer transport practices across Ogun State.
In her welcome remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Aderonke Tokunbo-Peters, appreciated the visiting team for identifying with the ministry to enhance public awareness and drive the government’s developmental agenda.
Earlier, the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Paramount FM, Abeokuta, Mrs. Oluremi Olugbenro, lauded the ministry for repositioning the operations of transport unions across the state, despite the increase in their numbers.
Mrs. Olugbenro attributed the positive transformation to purposeful leadership by the Commissioner, while reaffirming Paramount FM’s readiness as the platform for the ministry to furnish the people with the right information and knowledge about the government’s interventions and stakeholders responsibilities towards sustaining the sector.
