Ogun By-Election: INEC Moves Sensitive Materials

The Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC has begun moving sensitive materials including ballot papers and result sheets to Remo North, Ikenne and Sagamu Local Government Areas ahead of the tomorrow’s bye-election in Remo Federal Constituency of Ogun State.

The election is scheduled to commence at 8:30 a.m. in all polling centres and end by 2:30 p.m.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner ,REC for Ogun State, Mrs. Saseyi Feyijimi, who coordinated the movement of sensitive materials from the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Abeokuta Zonal Office, assured that the process would be transparent.

The inspection and movement of the materials were witnessed by critical stakeholders, including security agencies and agents of the three participating political parties , Olusegun Bankole (APC), Afolabi Orekoya (PDP) and Ayodeji Daodu (Accord Party).

Mrs. Feyijimi further assured that the commission remained fully committed to fairness, adding that the 2,445 officers trained for the exercise had been cautioned against any infraction.
