It was a moment of reflection as family members, friends, and associates of Former President,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo gathered in Abeokuta to commemorate the 20th memorial service of the late former First Lady, Mrs. Stella Obasanjo.
The event which was held at the Chapel of Christ the Glorious King, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, drew dignitaries, including former Ogun State Governors,Senator Gbenga Daniel and Senator Ibikunle Amosun among others.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo while speaking with journalists shortly after the service, described the event as a celebration of a life well spent in service to others.
The younger brother of the deceased,Mr John Abebe, described her as a calm and cheerful personality who brought comfort and hope to her family and everyone around her, even in difficult times.
Also,her son,Mr Olumuyiwa Obasanjo, reflected on her enduring influence, noting that her values of discipline, kindness and strength continued to shape those she left behind.
In his sermon, Reverend Yusufu Obaje, the Pioneer Chaplain of the State House, Abuja, commended the late Mrs. Obasanjo’s life of humility, faith and service to God, describing her as an example of purposeful living.
The gathering ended with prayers and thanksgiving, as family and friends celebrated two decades of cherished memories and a legacy that continues to inspire.
