The National Universities Commission has approved the re-introduction of Management Degree Programmes at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta FUNNAB Ogun State.
The approved programmes include B.Sc. Accounting, B.Sc. Banking and Finance, B.Sc. Business Administration, and B.Sc. Economics as well as a new postgraduate course, M.Sc. Agroecology.
A statement by the Acting Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide, said that the approval follows a successful Resource Assessment Visit to the University.
Mr Olamide noted that the development marks a major milestone in FUNAAB’s academic expansion, as the programmes were delisted in the 2017/2018 academic session following a Federal Government directive that restricted management courses in agricultural universities.
The Statement added that with the latest approval, the institution would soon begin admissions into the re-introduced degree programmes under COLENDS for the 2025/2026 academic session.
It would be recalled that in 2021, the University Senate renamed the College of Management Sciences (COLMAS) to the College of Entrepreneurial and Development Studies (COLENDS), in line with the institution’s renewed focus on entrepreneurship and development-oriented education.
