Nine Teams set to Clash in 3rd Edition of Abeokuta All Stars Veterans’ League


The third edition of the Abeokuta All Stars Veterans’ Football League will kick off this weekend at the Mainbowl of MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta.

The highly anticipated tournament will feature nine All Stars teams competing in a month-long competition.

Speaking ahead of the competition, The Coordinator of the tournament, Alhaji Lawal Adeoye Waheed, explained that the essence of the league was to foster the spirit of unity and togetherness among all All Stars Football Club in Abeokuta and Egbaland. 

Alhaji Lawal urged all participating teams and their fans to exhibit sportsmanship behavior throughout the duration of the games.

In a remark, The Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, LOC, Hon. Idowu Olowofuja, disclosed that adequate security and top-notch medical facilities would be provided during the tournament.

The opening match will see Mapoly All Stars FC take on Lisabi All Stars FC at 9am,  Carwash Bombers All Stars FC will battle the defending champion, Abeokuta All Stars FC at 11am, while Amolasho All Stars FC will confront Ebenezer All Stars at 1pm.

Other participating teams are Africa All Stars, Bankers All Stars, Victorroti All Stars

The Abeokuta All Stars Veterans’ Football League has been in existence since 2023, with the first edition featuring six teams. 

The hosts, All Stars FC Abeokuta, won the inaugural edition and are also the defending champions.
