Heads of federal establishments in Ogun calls for stronger participation

By Oluwatoyin Adegoke

The Forum of Heads of Federal Establishments in Ogun State has held its monthly meeting at the Federal Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, with a renewed call on members to show stronger participation.

The meeting, which brought together heads of federal agencies operating in the state, focused on challenges confronting individual organisations and explored solutions to enhance their operations.

Acting Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Lanre Seteolu, stressed the need for substantive heads of agencies to actively participate in the forum’s activities, describing it as a vital platform for promoting the federal government’s presence in Ogun State.

He explained that while senior officers could be delegated to attend, only substantive heads were eligible to form the executive council and take decisions.

Also speaking, the Director of the Abeokuta Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, Professor Oyekunle Adegboyega, called for greater commitment from member agencies to the growth and well-being of federal establishments.

In her remarks, the Public Relations Officer of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Mrs. Abiola Adekunle, advised the forum to help sensitize prospective candidates on the importance of proper registration for the National Identity Number, NIN, as it forms the foundation for other enrolments.

She warned candidates against using cybercafés for JAMB services, urging them instead to patronize accredited CBT centres or JAMB offices.

The General Manager, Radio Nigeria Paramount FM, Abeokuta, Mrs. Oluremi Olugbenro, reaffirmed the station’s commitment to serving the public interest, urging federal ministries and agencies to leverage the station’s platform to publicize their programmes and engage directly with the people.
