AllStars Veteran Football League Match Day 2 Thrills Fans with 9 Goals

A total of nine goals were recorded in the match day 2 of the ongoing 3rd edition of AllStars Veteran Football League played at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena Kuto Abeokuta.

The matches will drew soccer fans from different part of the states lived up to its billings with beautiful displays of skills and goals from the players.

Abeokuta Bankers AllStars FC set the tone for the day, beating  Victorotti AllStars FC by two goals to nothing.

Ife Minasu and Ayo Orube got the goals for Abeokuta Bankers AllStars FC in the 9th and 77th minutes of the encounter.

The second game of the day between Africa AllStars FC and MAPOLY AllStars FC produced four goals, as both teams settled for 2 goals apiece.

 Lisabi AllStars FC who lost their opening game to MAPOLY AllStars FC, put the defeat behind them and beat Carwash Bombers FC by three goals to nothing in a thrilling encounter.

In a interview with Journalists, the Coordinator of the league who is also the President of AllStars Football Club Abeokuta, Alhaji Waheed Lawal said the League has been a resounding success, bringing together ex-players, current players, and football enthusiasts from various communities and zones within the metropolis of Abeokuta. 

Alhaji Lawal there was significant improvements in the games, with teams comporting themselves in a more mature manner and displaying better skills on the field. 

He attributed the high-scoring matches, with multiple goals scored in each game to the teams’ skills and the competitive nature of the league. 

Also, the Chairman, Local Organizing committee, Hon Olowofuja Idowu said the league had provided a valuable platform for ex-players to share their experience and skills with younger players.
