Comrade Bose Akíntúndé of Family FM, Abeokuta has emerged as the new Chairman of the Consolidated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists ,NUJ Ogun State Council.
Comrade Akintunde emerged the Chapel’s leader to fill the vacuum of the chairman’s seat.
Speaking at the event held at the chapel’s secretariat, Ita-Eko, Abeokuta, State Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, commended members of the chapel for their unity and steadfast support for the Ogun State Council, describing the event as a step toward strengthening cooperation within the union.
Comrade Olanrewaju reminded journalists of the need for seriousness in union governance, saying NUJ remains a platform for professional growth and ethical practice and pledged continued support to members, particularly in training and retraining for improved professionalism.
He charged the new chairman to serve diligently, uphold integrity and work for the collective good of members, also urged members to give her the deserved respect and support to enable her succeed.
In her acceptance speech, Comrade Bose Akintunde thanked members for the trust reposed in her leadership and promised to lead with integrity, passion and a commitment to progress.
Comrade Akíntúndé called for unity and open communication among members, stressing the need for fresh ideas to move the chapel and journalism practice forward in Ogun State.
