A total of seventy-nine students from the sixth graduating set of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin , Ebenezer Obey Music and Life Skills Institute, Abeokuta Centre, have completed their programmes, bringing the total number of graduates since 2021 to 217.
Speaking at the the signing-out ceremony held in Abeokuta, Ogun State the Founder of the institute and music legend, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, implored the graduand to use their knowledge and skills to inspire positive change and contribute to national development.
Chief Obey urged the graduates to let their achievements reflect the values of discipline, hard work, and service to humanity, explaining that the centre was established to empower young people and give back to society through education and moral development.
Also speaking, the Director of the Centre for Part-Time and Professional Studies, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Dr. Lateef Mustapha, described the graduation as a celebration of resilience, creativity, and lifelong learning.
Dr. Mustapha noted that the affiliation demonstrates that higher education should go beyond classroom instruction to include moral discipline, entrepreneurship, and community service,stressing that true success lies not in the certificates received, but in the ability to use knowledge to solve problems and improve lives.
The Part time Director further enjoined the graduates to be innovative, diligent, and uphold the virtues of integrity, humility, and excellence that both institutions stand for, reminding them that real success would be measured not by grades, but by the positive impact they make in society.
In his goodwill message, former Vice Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Professor Sabiru Adesanya, commended the institute for its role in human capacity development and urged the graduates to remain worthy ambassadors of the institution.
Earlier, the Director of the Institute, Mr. Adekunle Durosinmi, described the event as a milestone in the institute’s steady journey toward excellence, stressing that the growing number of graduates reflects the confidence students have in the centre’s academic and professional programmes, which continue to blend moral values with skill-based learning.
Mr. Durosinmi added that the institute was positioning itself for greater impact, with plans underway to establish a world-class Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre and to register the institute as a private polytechnic.
He reaffirmed the management’s commitment to sustaining high standards and expanding opportunities for students seeking quality tertiary education and professional advancement.
The 79 graduates were drawn from the Departments of Accounting, Computer Science, Business Administration and Mass Communication.
