Ogun State Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya has attributed workplace sustainability to effective human capital management, saying it remains indispensable in shaping the future of work.
Mr Onasanya stated this at the 11th Annual Conference of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria , Ogun State branch, held at the Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, themed “Strategies for Navigating New Challenges in Human Capital Management.”
According to him, Human resource managers are critical in attracting and retaining talent, managing risks, ensuring compliance and fostering a productive work culture through workforce planning, capacity building and clear policy frameworks.
The Head of Service who commended CIPM for consistently providing platforms for knowledge sharing, restated the state government’s commitment not to relent in capacity building for its workforce.
The Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka emphasised that effective HR practice remained essential for achieving organisational goals in both public and private sectors.
In his keynote address, CIPM President, Mallam Ahmed Gobir, reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to maintaining high standards in HR practice, urging practitioners to continually upscale their skills for efficiency and effectiveness.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Ogun State CIPM Chairperson, Mrs. Oladunni Adetona, described the three-day conference as an opportunity for practitioners to brainstorm, network, and align strategies to tackle emerging challenges in human capital management
