The Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun One Area Command, has intercepted smuggled goods valued at over 1.4 billion naira.
The seizures included a 2021 Rolls Royce Ghost worth 905 million naira, a 2014 Mercedes Benz, a 2018 Honda Accord, more than 1,900 parcels of cannabis sativa, thousands of bags of foreign parboiled rice, and 105 used tyres.
The Customs Area Controller, Mr Godwin Otunla, who made this known at the Idiroko border, said the command remained committed to fighting smuggling and protecting Nigeria’s economy and security.
He explained that the seized narcotics had been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigation.
On revenue, Mr Otunla announced that the command generated 45 million naira in July 2025, representing a 27.5 percent increase over the figure recorded in the same month last year.
He commended the dedication of customs officers, support from border communities and the collaborations with other security agencies, while warning smugglers that no level of sophistication would shield them from arrest and prosecution.
