APC Candidate Wins Ogun By-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC has declared Mrs Adesola Elegbeji candidate of the All Progressives Congress ,APC winner of the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency by-election.

Announcing the result, Returning Officer, Dr. Kazeem Bello, stated that Mrs Elegbeji polled 41,237 votes to defeat her rival, who scored 14,324 votes on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP while the African Democratic Congress ,ADC recorded 289 votes.

The election was conducted across the three local government areas of the constituency of Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North covering all registered polling units.

The by-election was held to fill the seat left vacant by the death of the former lawmaker, Mrs. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, who died in January after a brief illness
