Police Restrict Movement in Ogun Ahead of By-Election

The Ogun State Police Command has announced a restriction of movement in Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Federal Constituency during tomorrow’s by-election.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola said movement within the affected areas would be prohibited from midnight to 4:00 p.m. on August 16 2025.

She said patrol vehicles, stop-and-search teams and other operational units would be strategically deployed to ensure a smooth and hitch-free exercise.

While briefing officers on election duty at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Commissioner of Police,Mr Lanre Ogunlowo emphasized the need for professionalism, civility and neutrality in the discharge of their duties.

Mr Ogunlowo disclosed that the Command, working in collaboration with other security agencies and additional manpower from Zone 2 Command, Lagos, had implemented robust security measures to prevent election-related violence and safeguard voters before, during and after the polls.

The Commissioner urged citizens to comply with electoral laws to promote a credible, transparent and violence-free election.
